Bug#668305: apt: Silently installed cron job deletes files (despite comments to the contrary)

reassign -1 update-notifier-common
retitle -1 update-notifier-common silently deletes files by default

Ok, I cloned this bug. It would be great if it could be corrected for
Wheezy, though. Either a more defensive default setting or a debconf
question. Or, if update-notifier is not needed (I did not, and now
that I've noticed that it is installed, I'll remove it to be honest)
then a removal for Wheezy would be great as well (no need to keep
packages of (very) little use, IMHO.

Again, thanks for you swift reply; do not hesitate to manipulate the
new bugs as you see fit.
