Hi!

The apt-inst shared library has code to access the internal dpkg db,
but that will not work with multiarch. Ideally that part of libapt-inst
would either not exist or be just a wrapper on top of libdpkg, but given
that the later is not publicly usable yet, that there seems to be users
for it, and that rewritting the library to use dpkg commands output would
be extremely ugly, I guess you might need to fix libapt-inst for now.
