Package: apt
Version: 0.8.11.5
Severity: normal
Hi,
thanks for apt, I just love it. :)
However right now, it told me to file a bug:
>> LANG=C sudo apt-get remove --purge gcj-jre-headless gij
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Hmm, seems like the AutoRemover destroyed something which really
shouldn't happen. Please file a bug report against apt.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
openjdk-6-jre : Depends: libaccess-bridge-java-jni but it is not going to be installed
openjdk-6-jre-headless : Depends: openjdk-6-jre-lib (>= 6b18-1.8.5-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: ca-certificates-java but it is not going to be installed
Depends: tzdata-java but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: icedtea-6-jre-cacao (= 6b18-1.8.5-1) but it is not going to be installed
E: Internal Error, AutoRemover broke stuff
(gcj-jre-headless and gij were held back for some time...)
If you need any other info, just ask. (I've got the output from dpkg -l around.)
Cheers,
Stefan.

Version: 0.8.12
Strange, somehow the response never made it to my inbox…
Still, thanks a lot for your response!
I tried with your state files and the problem is fixed in 0.8.12
with my commit which fixed a similar bug:
* cmdline/apt-get.cc:
- reinstall dependencies of reinstalled "garbage" (Closes: #617257)
So i am closing that bug now.
Again, thanks a lot for reporting the bug!
Best regards
David Kalnischkies
