Bug#605873: Why is every pdiff message repeated thrice?

If you look closely, you will see that all files appear multiple times in
the output. The reason here is simply that the first is the download,
the second the decompression of the downloaded file and the third applying
of the patch.

Its similar for other files (download, decompression), in terms of Release
files even a gpgv step… Somehow, its an implementation detail the layer
responsible for this output doesn't know: A file has to emerge through
various steps before being "complete" and maybe someone should told the
layer this fact.
On the other hand, if you know what happens, you can see progress…


After all, you noticed it now only because of the special (read: bad)
handling pdiffs get and that is something which should really be changed
as these could be a lot more useful if all are downloaded in a batch,
merged and after that applied instead of downloading and applying them
patch after patch…
Lets see when someone will find the time to implement/fix this…

P.S.: Another message i found in my draft folder which should have
