Package: apt
Version: 0.8.0
Severity: important

apt can't access to remote repositories using http/ftp protocols. It
shows following message.

``
/usr/lib/apt/methods/http: error while loading
shared libraries: libapt-pkg-libc6.9-6.so.4.8: cannot open shared object
file: No such file or directory
''

Then it doesn't work signaling an error with code 127. In italian it
shows

``
E: Il sottoprocesso http ha restituito un codice d'errore (127)
E: Il metodo /usr/lib/apt/methods/http non si è avviato correttamente
E: Method http has died unexpectedly!
''

File libapt-pkg-libc6.9-6.so.4.8 which I suppose shoud be in apt
package according to libapt-pkg-libc6.9-6-4.6 package data there isn't.

That would be really interesting to know, as this is a pretty strange…
It could even be an indication that your system is compromised or
your hardware is slowly dying…

You can completely reinstall a package with APT btw with
apt-get install --reinstall package-in-question

(Closing as non-bug as you said)

Best regards
