It would be not too complicated (or at least it shouldn't be) but such
an automatic ignore would for example transparently hide a
discontinued architecture. Also, if the archive supports a new
architecture you accept APT will not automatically start to pull
from this archive too - and that is a feature as such a new source
is maybe not handled by pinning or other settings…

P.S.: Don't worry, it is documented nowhere (expect a few well hidden
bugreports and mails) currently, so you haven't missed something.
