Thanks for explaining. The manpage seems to be favoring the following order by default: bzip2: lzma: gzip In that case, the bug report is valid against apt-offline and I should be doing the same thing of trying all these 3 formats because a mix of source repositories could be present, serving different formats. -- Ritesh Raj Sarraf | http://people.debian.org/~rrs
