Package: apt
Version: 0.5.3
Severity: wishlist

I wanted to check I had the latest debian diffs to rebuild xfree86.
I already had the xfree.orig.tar ball in the current directory.
I used apt-get source xfree86, and apt over wrote the existing 50meg
tar ball in an attempt to replace it with a fresh copy.

I would have liked to have been asked something along the lines of,
file exists, skip or overwrite?

Or perhaps I would have liked an option to specify that I only wanted the
diff and dsc files.

cheers

apt-get source displays at least since 0.6.43.2 that it will
skip the download of the file as it already exists (and has
the correct checksum).

The feature of --{dsc,diff,tar}-only still exists.

So i think this bug can finally be closed and therefore i
do this now, but feel free to reopen it if you disagree.

Best regards,

David Kalnischkies
