Bug#549312: aptitude 0.4.11.11 does not build
In my continuing attempts to pin this bug, I have rebuilt dpkg and apt
from sources with nostrip, but aptitude-0.4.11.11 does not rebuild
on current testing. I guess I could try 0.6.1-1 from sid or maybe
aptitude-dbg.
It seems as if apt-get no longer has problems installing from /dvd - I
haven't done enough testing to be sure - so I speculate that it may be some
synchronisation problem between aptitude, the cdrom method and dpkg. Hence my
attempt to get an aptitude with symbols running under gdb.
Any advice from the people who know the code?
