Hello. Apt should never write 'unpacking' or similar dpkg action by its own, it is what dpkg writes, apt only calls dpkg. Moreover, this is very old bug. I'm closing it. Please submit new bug against dpkg if you feel that this bug is yet exists. -- Eugene V.
