EVL> Our of curiosity: what 'apt-get --purge install <package>' should do?

That's simple: just the same as apt-get install <package>, with the
exception that if any packages are to be removed as a side-effect in
the process, they should be purged also. Just like if one has
APT::Get::Purge true;

Gee, the package in question seems gone. Closing.
