Package: aptitude Version: 0.4.4-1 Severity: minor Hi, Because of #388708, I pinned apt. Since aptitude 0.4.3-1 -> 0.4.4-1 I think, aptitude works well but outputs the following message : # LANG=C aptitude upgrade Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Reading extended state information Initializing package states... Done Building tag database... Done No packages will be installed, upgraded, or removed. 0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded. Need to get 0B of archives. After unpacking 0B will be used. aptitude: symbol lookup error: aptitude: undefined symbol: _ZN9pkgPolicyD2Ev (I used LANG=C to make messages displayed in English, but the problem is also present with my default locale) I think it has to do with an ABI change in apt without a soname change (that's what I understood from similar bug reports). Anyway, aptitude 0.4.4 shouldn't depend on apt >= 0.6.46 ? Feel free to ask for more information. Version: 0.7.0 Bug had to be fixed in apt 0.7.0, as it was ABI bump in that release. -- Eugene V. Lyubimkin aka JackYF, Ukrainian C++ developer.Attachment: signature.asc
