I think the dependency problem occurred because I have libgnome2-0 ,
libgnomeui-0 installed from 'experimental' (version 2.22.x) while the
dev-files in the 'unstable' tree depend exclusively on 2.20.x .
The dev-files for libgnome2-0 , libgnomeui-0 are available in
'experimental' too . Setting the right version for those files should
resolve all the build dependency problems .

I think this bug should be closed unless 'apt-get build-dep' should
smartly pick the right version for the dev-files .
