Bug#485476: apt cron.daily script blocks nfs volumes

Package: apt
Version: 0.7.14
Severity: normal

Hey, first put the severity to grave because this bug causes a highly
rate of machines reboots ...

So, we are using apt on a nfs mounted archive which works fine so far.
Introducing the daily apt script the apt-get check process hangs to
infinity in a unkillable D state. There is no way to get rid of the
program unless you reboot the machine which is absolutely annoying. I
mean I can delete by hand the locks of dpkg and apt if necessary, but I
cannot unmount the nfs volume !

The only thing which is comfortable for all and for us is that there is
an option in apt-config to say that we don't want to run apt-get in a
daily fashion. So, please implement this immedeatly!!
