Bug#435757: python-apt: Error using apt_pkg: undefined symbol: pkgcpu
Package: python-apt
Version: 0.7.3
Severity: important
I get an "undefined symbol" error as follows:
<shell>
[kumar@debian ~] python
Python 2.4.4 (#2, Apr 26 2007, 00:02:45)
[GCC 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.1-21)] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import apt_pkg
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in ?
ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/apt_pkg.so: undefined symbol: pkgCPU
</shell>
Since this effectively renders the package unusable, I set the
severity to important.
Thanks.
Kumar
