Package: apt Version: 0.6.44.1 Severity: wishlist it would be nice if the first line of "apt-cache show <pkg>" output would indicate the server url that this package is located at. i believe this will give users to be more confident about where the packages they are installing come from. providing the release code name would also be useful. thank you for your consideration. mike -- Package-specific info: -- (/etc/apt/preferences present, but not submitted) -- -- (/etc/apt/sources.list present, but not submitted) -- -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (600, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-1-686 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages apt depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.1.0-4 GCC support library ii libstdc++6 4.1.0-4 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 Versions of packages apt recommends: pn debian-archive-keyring <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information

Policy gives that information as well as the server.
