File Size

How can i make it so apt Always lists the size of the
package and prompts me before the download. Right now
it Only does this if it needs to install extra
dependencies. I know i can use apt-cache show but im
looking for a little extra functionality here. Im
really new to linux and have little or no programming
skills but i can edit things im just not sure what
strings to use... any and all help is appreciated.
