Since you're breaking the ABI in the experimental branch, would it be possible for you to incorporate this into the next libapt? It looks like the pkgAcqFile class has been updated since I snarfed its code into aptitude, and while I could update my copy of it, it would be better if I could just go back to using the one in libapt (which I think would automatically fix #299127, in particular).
