I think this is releated to #319142 and the fix in my
michael.vogt@ubuntu.com--2005/apt--mvo--0 branch at
http://people.ubuntu.com/~mvo/arch/ubuntu
shoud fix it too. It would be cool if you could give it a try, 
$ debian/rules arch-build
should work.
