Package: apt
Version: 0.5.27
Severity: normal

Sorry for the rather vague report - I'm not entirely sure which
package to report this to - so apologies if you are not the
culprit. However, either apt or dpkg need to return more detailed
error information for me to give a more detailed report.

I update using dselect, first updating the list of available packages,
then install them - using the apt-get method from dselect.

I get the following error (which I wrote down and retyped - due to
lack of cut and paste - so beware of possible errors in the
transcription):

Errors were encountered while processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libflash-dev_0.4.11-2_i386.deb

E sub process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1).

Some errors occurred while unpacking. I'm going to configure the
  packages that were installed....

Letting the process finish, and reinstalling, I get this package to
reinstall again, and it all works fine.

The real error was printed by dpkg much earlier in the process; it probably
scrolled off your screen.
