The fact that it insists on downloading it again is a known bug (I believe
it's even in debbugs somewhere), but the fact that it gets the download
wrong is fairly odd.

What's going on with the (diff) download?  What kind of HTTP server is on
the other end?  There was a new chunked-encoding bug filed recently.
