Bug#283480: apt: apt-get: combined update/upgrade command
Package: apt
Version: 0.5.27
Severity: wishlist
Hello,
A very common operation is to first update the package lists
(apt-get update) and then download and install any updated packages
(apt-get upgrade). It would be nice if this could be done in one
command.
Running these commands separately now causes a waiting time when
Reading Package Lists (especially on slower machines and/or machines
with many sources). With the combined command this reading step only
has to be done once, and it saves some typing on the commandline.
