pkgTagSection and memory usage

Hello,

In the debtags sytem, the tag description vocabulary also has
RFC822-like records inside, and I would like to use pkgTagSection to
parse it. However, since I'd like to parse gzipped files on the fly, I
can't use pkgTagFile. Can I feed any string to pkgTagSection or does it
assume something on its input, like that it comes from a larger buffer
in pkgTagFile, or that its buffer shouldn't be deallocated during the
pkgTagSection object lifetime?

Ciao,

Enrico
