[daenzer@debian.org: Bug#250583: Leaks file handles for /var/cache/apt/pkgcache.bin]
Is it possible that libapt is leaking these fds? I checked the code,
and aptitude appears to clean up all the structures associated with the
cache. (and I know I'm not explicitly opening pkgcache.bin)

It seems to leak one for each installation run. Consequently, more than 6 MB
of the filesystem per stale handle are inaccessible here; has grown to
hundreds of MBs after some days of building and installing stuff.
