The word 'debug' doesn't even appear once on the man page.

Why not add an example of how the user could use -o to print out the
internal state of all the variables.

One might dig and dig, but when one finally arrives at
/usr/share/doc/apt/examples/configure-index.gz
one still can't figure out which of the

can do it.
