If you think you have the slightest chance of convincing the glibc folks
to do anything about it, yes. We (the OpenSSH maintainers) tried over a
period of many months and were consistently rebuffed with bogus
statements such as "apache and bind don't have a problem with it" (of
course, when I looked into those I found that neither of those actually
use the buggy library function). Their position now seems to boil down
to "we don't care about IPv6 on 2.2".

No. Eventually, OpenSSH upstream heard about the problem and implemented
a hacky workaround, so ssh no longer suffers from the bug. However, the
problem has still not been fixed in glibc.
