Package: apt
Version: 0.5.5
Severity: normal

Hi,

While trying to install the build-deps for fvwm:

# apt-get build-dep fvwm
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Build-Depends dependency for fvwm cannot be satisfied because no available versions of package libpng-dev can satisfy version requirements

but libpng12-dev provides libpng-dev:
# apt-cache show libpng12-dev|grep Provides:
Provides: libpng-dev, libpng12-0-dev

So this build-dependency can be satisfied, in contrast to what apt is reporting.

Thanks a lot for you work!

- Alexander
