package: apt
Version: 0.3.7
severity: wishlist

it might be cool if apt-get install, when listing the things it is
installing/upgrading, could mention "suggested packages not being
installed"... this is inspired by upgrading xanim, having it reduce
in functionality because the decoders I happenned to need are now in
xanim-modules, but that it is [appropriately] only a "suggest"ed
package. It might even be more appropriate to list "new" suggestions,
relative to the installed package base, to catch changes like this,
but I'd have to think about that more, it might not be quite the
right way to handle it.

(a tool that listed "unsatisfied suggests" would be cool too, but I
just mention that in passing, not as part of this wishlist report :-)
