/var/cache/apt/archives over NFS (shared) ?

Is it possible to mount /var/cache/apt/archives over NFS, and have it
be shared between multiple computers?  If so, where can I read about
doing that?

Or, alternativly, is it possible to have apt look first in an NFS
location, and use that if found, and if not, download to a local
directory?
