Bug#178008: What is happening with this bug?

It was marked as pending upload at 2 Feb 2003 01:43:49 +0000, it is now 
15 Apr 2003, and still no sign of any activity on this bug.

I know that there are pre-release packages available at 
http://people.debian.org/~doogie/apt, but these then break compatibility 
with many several other packages in unstable. Some of these packages are:
 * apt-listchanges
     depends on python-apt
       depends on libapt-pkg-libc6.2-3-2-3.2)
 * gnome-apt
     depends on libapt-pkg-libc6.2-3-2-3.2)

There are others as well, including aptitude, which already has packages 
ready to upload at http://people.debian.org/~dburrows/aptitude
