Bug#163867: apt: Report which package caused a new package to be installed with dist-upgrade
Package: apt
Version: 0.5.4
Severity: wishlist
Hi,
When I run testing it regularly needs to install new packages to fulfill new
dependancies (usually package splitting...), but I have no idea which
package being upgraded has added a dependancy to the new package.
The following extra packages will be installed:
pkga{1,2} pkgb{3}
The following packages will be upgraded:
pkg1[1] pkg2[2] pkg3[3]
pkg1 and pkg2 depend on pkga
pkg3 depends on pkgb
