apt-cdrom usage??

Hello,

I hope you welcome questions like these.

I was wondering if it is possible to use apt-cdrom to add CD image
files (e.g. woody-i386-1.iso) that are currently on a local hard
drive, to the apt system? That way, I can have apt mount and
retrieve files needed in these CD image files rather than downloading
them from the net. I burn CDs and give them to my brother-in-law
since he has dialup access, and I have faster internet access. As a
result, I don't keep CDs, and I don't want the hassle of having to
keep or insert the physical CDs, and I don't want to use up all my
/dev/loop# devices to keep the images mounted.

If not, is there another apt tool that will reference these CD image
files into the apt system??

Thanks!
