Bug#133950: apt: internal error on unmet dependencies

Package: apt
Version: 0.5.4
Severity: normal

Today, I got the following messages on apt-get -u upgrade on a sid
system: (most packages are probably irrelevant, but included to avoid
missing some important detail)

root@sirith:~# apt-get -u upgrade

Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
slang1-utf8-dev: Depends: slang1-utf8 (= 1.4.4-7) but it is not going to be installed or
                            slang1 (= 1.4.4-7) but 1.4.4-7.1 is to be installed
E: Internal Error, InstallPackages was called with broken packages!

apt-get -u dist-upgrade does work (by installing slang1a-utf8, and
upgrading slang1-utf8-dev, probably)
