Bug#131397: "Something wicked happened" is not a useful error message

Package: apt
Version: 0.5.4

During an apt-get update the following message was emitted:

Err http://www.uk.debian.org unstable/main Packages
Something wicked happened resolving 'www.uk.debian.org:http' (-3)

"Something wicked happened" is not at all useful as an
error message. Is this an apt internal error, a problem with
the nameserver, or what? (In fact experimentation suggests it
happens when the name server times out.)

I think this error message should be rephrased to be more comprehensible
and informative...
