Duh, yes but the "it crashes" doesn't mean a segfault, I've reproduced
this many times, it's just that apt exits kindly after having detected a
false problem. Exactly what my patch changes.

Ok, then we'll never have that secured stuff for CD.

You could at least start to think about it so that we can introduce the
changes in apt now so that for woody+1 we won't have the same problem
again.

BTW, I disabled by default the creation of the secured tree in debian-cd.
