Bug#101396: build problems on hppa

while trying to compile apt on hppa ( gcc-3 only ) i got the following error
messages:
	In file included from ../build/include/apt-pkg/mmap.h:33,
		from contrib/mmap.cc:29:
	../build/include/apt-pkg/fileutl.h:38: 'string' is used as a type, 
	but is not defined as a type.
	../build/include/apt-pkg/fileutl.h:50: `string' was not declared 
	in this scope
lots of errors follows.
