Already forgot about this, I'm closing it... (but I'll remember that for the

I thought that the maint-only thing reportbug suggested was just that, a mail
to the maintainer only...

(Now that I come to think of it, the Release file was most likely *not*
malformed; it was about a literal copy (only the Archive: changed) from my
local mirror Release, and I can perfectly use that to pin in apt.preferences;
also - to prevent misunderstandings - I temporarily worked around that pin
settings for the reported problem, so that wasn't the cause either)
