Package: apt
Version: 0.5.3

I'm running woody.

Not sure if this is really an apt bug, or a dpkg bug. Dpkg is v1.9.6.

I found and fixed a bug in lprng 3.7.4-4. I used "apt-get source"
to retrieve the source, patched it, did "debian/rules binary-arch",
and then installed the resulting .deb file. Subsequent runs of dselect
always retrieve the stock lprng package and install it, thus repeatedly
breaking my lprng package. The version which is downloaded during
the dselect session is identically numbered with the one I patched.

You need to change your version number after compiling it, or put it on
hold.
