Bug#98556: apt seems to have a problem with picking releases
Package: apt
Version: 0.5.3
Severity: normal
Hi,
apt is confused with releases on my system it seems:
lucretia:~# apt-get install adduser/temp
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Release 'temp' for 'adduser' was not found
lucretia:~# grep Archive /var/lib/apt/lists/_home_admin_mechanix_debs_i386_archives_._Release
Archive: temp
lucretia:~# grep adduser /var/lib/apt/lists/_home_admin_mechanix_debs_i386_archives_._Packages
Package: adduser
Filename: i386/adduser_3.36_all.deb
This package includes the adduser and deluser commands for creating
Adding users with adduser is much easier than adding them by hand.
lucretia:~# apt-cache showpkg adduser | grep mechanix_debs_i386
3.36(/var/lib/apt/lists/_home_admin_mechanix_debs_i386_archives_._Packages)
This 'temp' release is a bunch of debs that I threw in a directory and ran
dpkg-scanpackages on; there *is* a Release file in it etc., everything is as
it should be.
Any ideas what the problem would be?
I'm sending this to maintonly, but feel free to make a real bug out of it if
you think something is really wrong.
Regards,
Filip
