Package: apt
Version: 0.5.2

/var/cache/apt$ sudo apt-cache check
E: Invalid operation check

but:
/var/cache/apt$ apt-cache
apt 0.5.2 for linux i386 compiled on Mar 4 2001 19:51:04
Usage: apt-cache [options] command
  ...
check - Check the cache a bit

The reason for this is that I was (with apt 0.5.0) getting:
~$ sudo apt-get dselect-upgrade
Reading Package Lists... Done

The following packages will be REMOVED:
  aptitude irquery* libaspell6* libmng* libparted1* libpgsql2* libsnmp4.1*

E: I wasn't able to locate file for the opera package. This might mean you
need to manually fix this package. (due to missing arch)

(dpkg -s showed no opera packages, but:
/var/cache/apt$ apt-cache showpkg opera
Package: opera
Versions:
4.0-0beta5-20010103-014(/var/lib/dpkg/status)

Oh well, that error doesn't happen now so the apt upgrade must have fixed
that problem :-)

Er wait.. If I read this right, you saw the problem in 0.5.0, upgraded to
0.5.2 and it was gone? In which case this was indeed fixed.. see the
change log.

I fixed the doc issue ..

Jason
