Bug#69386: Packages last linefeed lack causes failure in dselect by apt-cache

Package: apt
Version: 0.3.19

Other: dpkg (1.6.14)

I am using the 'testing' distribution in auric.debian.org/~ajt/
The Packages file in that distribution lacks a LlineFeed on the
last line (already reported to AJ and correction is under way).

This problem causes, when updating inside dselect, a message error:
"E: read, still have 1 to read but none left"
this message is writen by the "apt-cache dumpavail" command
(which also gives error code 100 on exit) inside dselect and
prevents to continue correctly with the "select" phase.
I have checked the command "apt-cache dumpavail" out of dselect
and it gives the same message and error.

The lack of last linefeed does not seem to affect the
'apt-get update' but the error is generated by 'apt-cache'
so I am filing this bug to apt, but it affects also 'dselect'
so this bug could also go to dpkg.
I have not found a procedure to send a bug to both packages
in only one submit (maybe a "Other:" header?).
I think the maintainer will reasign the bug to dpkg if appropriate...

Thanks,
   Jose R.
