When I issue the following command:
apt-cdrom add
a line is added to /etc/apt/sources.list saying "unstable", which is
wrong for potato in the sense that potato is not unstable, and will
never be anymore. Moreover, a user changing the cdrom line by a ftp
line will have to change unstable by "frozen", "stable" or "potato",
or else the system will be upgraded to woody which is not normally
what one wants.
This would be fixed by removing the unstable symlink which points to
potato in the Debian CDs. The frozen symlink should be removed also
considering that official CD images are only released once the
distribution becomes stable.

This is not a bug.
apt-cdrom deliberately chooses [unstable,frozen,stable] above all other
duplicated names on the CD. This is to indicate to the user the status of
the disc. The CD label should (and does generally) contain the release
version.
