Bcc:
X-Mailer: bug 3.2.10

Package: apt
Version: 0.3.18
Severity: important

When i ran apt-get dist-upgrade it exited on a SIGSEGV.
apt-get install still worked.
I was running Linux 2.3.49 at the time. When i rebooted
into 2.3.48 and 2.2.14 the problem persisted.

In 2.2.14 it caught a SIGSEGV at first, but when i ran it
again, after installing the "bug" package, it did work.

All of the programs i was running (except for netscape) came
with potato.

Sounds like you managed to corrupt some disk files, maybe due to a buggy
kernel...
