Package: apt
Version: 0.3.15
Severity: normal

$ apt-get source krb4
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Package file /var/lib/dpkg/status is out of sync.

I don't see why it should check anything in status for downloading
sources...

It needs to know what version/source package to download. How on earth did
you get that? It is supposed to rebuild on conditions like that. Are you
running dpkg at the same time or something?
