Package: apt
Version: 0.3.10slink11
Severity: wishlist

It would be nice if there would be a sample sources.list after a initial
installation. This would eliminate errors in path etc if someone
creates his own list.
This sample file should include the binaries and sources for stable and the
security updates on master and some important mirrors..

All of these lines could be commentes so there should be no
danger.

There is, it is installed only if you do not already have one installed,
as well as being included in /usr/doc/examples
