Bug#52082: apt: C++ configure problem on m68k

Package: apt
Version: 0.3.15

checking host system type... m68k-unknown-linux-gnu
checking for m68k-linux-c++... no
checking for c++... c++
checking whether the C++ compiler (c++ ) works... configure: error:
installation or configuration problem: C++ compiler cannot create executables.

I do have g++ installed and I think its also configured correctly (no expert):
cts@aahz:/build/source/main/apt-0.3.15>g++ -v
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/m68k-linux/2.95.2/specs
gcc version 2.95.2 19991109 (Debian GNU/Linux)

Is there something wrong with my autoconfigure?

Ciao,
Christian.
