Bug#50236: apt: Something bad makes apt choke on 'dpkg-preconfig --apt'
Package: apt
Version: 0.3.14
Severity: normal
Something, probably a to-be-installed package misconfiguration makes
apt to die immediately after scanning packages with the message
'dpkg-preconfig --apt reported error' (probably when there is the
bad package already unpacked).
Since there is no further information on that, it is hard to tell what went
wrong, but the error cannot be fixed since user should _probably_ guess which
package has bad confiles, and remove the (unpacked?) package by hand.
I think I was able to fix it by removing the preconfiguration from apt.conf,
seems the only possible solution because I cannot spot the problem.
