Bug#49153: BUG/FEATURE: apt & pcmcia-cs on laptops & nfs
Package: apt
Version: all
While upgrading slink to potato on my laptop with apt, getting the files
over an NFS mounted directory, when apt reached the point where it
needed to upgrade pcmcia-cs and pcmcia-modules it rmmod-ed the pcmcia
modules, stopped cardmgr and deleted all of the them. After that apt
promptly died because the NFS directory he was reading was gone :) And i
stood there and looked at my (now) half-updated,
cannot-find-/usr/lib/xyz.so-screaming, network-less laptop.
Did the same thing (on a second laptop) when selecting APT Source from
dpkg (the owner almost killed me :)...
PLEEEEASE Fix that before freezeing potato... I searched almost 2 hours
for a good floppy to transfer the pcmcia-cs.deb and pcmcia-modules.deb
on the laptops and install them by hand. Thank god I didn't update over
ppp...
