Package: apt
Version: 0.3.10slink11

Hi,

This line in my sources.list file,

     deb file:/home/jeff/debian potato/pkgs/

appears to have elicited the error,

        Ign file:/home/jeff/debian/ potato/pkgs/ Release

while doing an apt-get update (using dselect). It seems that the
Packages file from my local archive was processed okay anyway,
even though no `Hit' line was printed for it.

I searched everywhere, in vain, for how to build this `Release'
file for my local package archive, here is a sample from the CD-ROM,

    96 root ~ # cat /cdrom/dists/slink/main/binary-i386/Release
    Archive: stable
    Component: main
    Version: 2.1
    Origin: Debian
    Label: Debian
    Architecture: i386

BTW, apt rocks!

Thanks,

Read the APT files document in the libapt-pkg-doc package
