Bug#45646: apt: error message given is offtopic

Package: apt
Version: 0.3.12
Severity: normal

When cleaning up old packages etc., I tried to remove svgalibg1 as well;
just before, removing svgalib1 worked fine:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
# apt-get remove svgalib1

The following packages will be REMOVED:
  svgalib1
0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 5 not upgraded.
Need to get 0B of archives. After unpacking 304kB will be freed.

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
  gv: Depends: gs
E: Sorry, broken packages
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The error message is saying that the package couldn't be installed.
However, I wasn't trying to install anything! Also, apt-get check
doesn't complain.

I have gs-aladdin installed, which Provides: gs and depends on svgalibg1.
However, this I found out by digging aroung myself, the apt-get error
message doesn't help any here.
